Intimacy (yin)
To experience deep relational nourishment there must be times we take down our guard and let love in. Many of us have never learnt how to let our guard down.
Complex traumas and past ruptures may be keeping us closed up, contracted and in self defence mode -These self-protections ensure that we are never hurt in the same ways again.
How can we foster connection after experiencing these painful ruptures?
What will it take for a hyper-aroused body to relearn safety… relearn intimacy?
Many of us deeply crave to know how it feels to surrender into someone’s embrace…
To let go. To Trust. To need not do, only be.
Intensity (yang)
On the other hand, powerful self-advocacy and setting our boundaries are also essential for nourishing, healthy relationships to exist.
Many of us are afraid of being honest, taking a stance and setting a boundary.
Over time, this undermines healthy and fulfilling ways of relating… Keeping us starved for connection and distant from our power.
The fierce animal inside of you is being invited out! To be expressed in connection. To rekindle a deep passion for life. To feel wildly alive and stand in your power!

Here is what you can expect during the workshop and beyond:
Yin in Practice: Co-regulating - Soothing - Opening - Meeting in Stillness
We will begin by slowly, safely lowering the barriers blocking us from love. Starting where all connection begins; with the self. Getting in touch with your breath and natural movements, being in contact with your bodies, connecting with your voices.
From this place of self, you will be invited to turn to another, to experience the giving and receiving of attuned presence. To simply be together and exist with one another. Take down the barriers to love. Let our guards down.
In The Yin & Yang of Relating, we will also use the voice as a key tool of connection, community bonding and re-awakening self expression. Through breath, movement and rhythm we will guide you to (re)-discover the instrument of your own voice. To connect with your voice as a tool of embodiment that can guide you down into your body.
Singing in community is a deeply healing experience. It has been practiced in ancient tribes and cultures for millennia. Your voice is regulating. Soothing. Softening. Listen and feel as it opens us into a collective resonance.
Yang in Practice: Somatically Empowered - Relationally Connected - Emotionally Expressed
Embark on this journey exploring the edges of your emotional landscape; awakening your passion and aliveness, in celebration of your total self expression.
Experiencing a broad range of emotions and states, from high intensity to blissful calm.
From standing powerfully in your ‘No!’, to letting go into forgiveness…
From celebrating your body's wisdom through dance and play, to grieving life’s pain.
This collective practice supports and facilitates deep emotional healing, serving as a gateway to more expansive, powerful and integrated emotional expression.
Circle Somatica
The workshop will come to completion with this somatic community integration technique.
A guided, body centred relational space to share and connect over what we experienced during the workshop.
See how what you share resonates with those around you.
Discover what happens when you go from being alone with ‘too much’, to together with enough.
Your Safety
Trauma related work has the potential to bring up challenging things for participants.
Here are some structures in place to make this a safe(r) space:
- Trained assistants available for emotional support
- Body-centred consent is taught and encourage
- Exercises are not mandatory, stepping out when needed is welcomed
